'Why York public loos report is a lot of 'number two'!'

PUBLIC conveniences in York are not at all convenient.

Far from it. Many have been closed and those that remain often leave a lot to be desired.

So it is a surprise to read a report that York is ranked “Number Two” in the nation for toilet provision.

The term “Number Two” is sometimes used as a euphemism for a solid bowel movement. Perhaps a more colloquial term for the same thing could be used to describe the study that claims toilet provision in York is second in the country because the dearth of public lavatories in this city makes that claim difficult to believe.

Football should only be played in winter

FOOTBALL and extremely hot weather just don't work. It's bad enough having to suffer this World Cup football nonsense being shoved down your throat, but with this extremely hot weather you have to suffer the roaring shouting through open windows all night long .

Football should only played in winter, and preferably in the rain or snow to dampen down the supporters as they go home.

Makerfield makes me ashamed to call myself a northerner

NOW Andy Burnham has returned to Parliament we will get a new PM, all thanks to a blatant corruption of the democratic process.

A new government coming in with a solid majority after no clues as to what it will do, let alone a manifesto declared for it to break, and only one small hand picked pocket of the nation even consulted.

Naturally people will be very angry with the incoming communist takeover of the nation and of the further damage it will cause.

Many will blame Starmer, some the Labour Party in general, socialists will keep saying 14 years, and in time people will start blaming Andy Burnham.

But the bottom line is the only ones to blame for the incoming hell is you the general public, and in particular those in Makerfield.

The by-election was openly hijacked as a means of replacing the government and to accept that with no prospect of a general election is stupidity of the highest order.

So when things deteriorate even further, which they will, do not forget its your fellow citizens from Lancashire who are to blame and don’t ever let them forget it.

Makes me ashamed to call myself a northerner.
