The 2026/27 Small Grants Scheme has been launched to help organisations deliver activities, services, events and improvements that strengthen communities, enhance local facilities and improve quality of life in Harrogate.

The funding is available through two separate grant programmes. A General Grants Fund of £24,045 will support community projects, activities and initiatives, while a further £50,000 Infrastructure and Capital Grants Fund is available for projects that improve community facilities or help Harrogate respond to development and population growth.

Importantly, the £50,000 Infrastructure and Capital Grants Fund comes from developer contributions linked to new housing developments in the Harrogate area. These funds are specifically intended to help communities meet the increased demand on local facilities and services that can arise from growth and development.

Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Viv Poskitt, said:

“Community organisations play a vital role in supporting residents, creating opportunities and bringing people together. Through this grants programme, Harrogate Town Council is investing £74,000 in projects that will make a real difference to communities across the town.”

“We are particularly pleased that a significant proportion of this funding has been secured through developer contributions, ensuring that investment linked to new development can be directed back into our communities. We encourage eligible organisations to explore the opportunities available and submit applications for projects that will deliver lasting benefits for Harrogate residents.”
