As part of its commitment to encouraging and enabling local community events, the Town Council made a £1,000 donation towards the cost of providing portable toilets – a practical but essential element of the evening’s organisation. Councillors also joined the volunteer team on the night, helping with stewarding and bucket collections in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice, the charity beneficiary for this year’s event.
Councillors reported a warm reception from the crowds and a strong fundraising effort, commenting afterwards, “It was a great night — I think we will have taken more than £1,000 just between the six of us!”
Attendees may also have noticed the Town Council’s new logo appearing on the big screen and high-visibility vests for the first time, marking the start of the launch of its new visual identity and presence in the town.
The Town Council extends its thanks and appreciation to Harrogate Round Table and the many volunteers, sponsors and members of the public who made the event possible. Their collective effort ensures that community traditions like the Bonfire Night celebrations continue to thrive for future generations.
