Police are searching for a ‘good Samaritan’ who helped an elderly man after he suffered a head injury near York Station.
It happened on Friday 16 October between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, although it was only reported to police last Monday (19 October).
The man, aged 85, walked out of the foyer of the station aiming to cross the road to catch a bus.
“At some point he sustained injuries including a head injury. However, it is not know whether he was hit by a vehicle or if he fell,” said a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
“A number of people came to his aid including a member of the public who took him to hospital.
“We need to establish how the man sustained his injuries and are appealing to the people who helped the man to come forward.
“If you were one of the people that came to his aid or if you witnessed the incident, please contact us.”
Police would also like to hear from anyone who many have caught the incident on their dashcam.
