A TV insider, speaking to The Sun, said: "Miranda has reminded everyone just how loved she is.

"There’s been a huge reaction to her on Celebrity Traitors, and the BBC will have noticed just how much affection there still is for her.

"There is a real appetite for more Miranda.

"The show has had a new generation discovering her, while those who grew up watching the sitcom are desperate to see her back on screen.

Miranda Hart opens up about her time in Celebrity Traitors

Miranda Hart has since appeared in other TV programmes and films, including Call the Midwife, Spy, and Emma.

She returned to the spotlight recently as a contestant on the second series of the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors.

Her time on the show ended on Friday (October 23), after she became the fifth celebrity to be 'murdered' by the Traitors – Maya Jama, James Acaster, and King Kenny.

Following her exit, Hart said: "I absolutely LOVED it.

"Please can I do it again?

"I am sure for many the idea of doing it is a hard no for a number of reasons – it’s an intense experience and being idiotic and vulnerable on international television isn’t for everyone.

"But for me it combined so much of what I love.

"I could go on.

"But when I say it was intense, it REALLY was – way more than I expected."
