A GRASSROOTS football club is working to improve opportunities for young players through a growing partnership.
Alpha United Juniors FC, based in Bradford, is extending its collaboration with Manchester City FC through a specialist workshop held at the club’s City Football Academy.
The partnership is part of Manchester City’s Inclusive Programme and focuses on developing coaching standards, supporting player growth, and creating pathways for young people from under-represented backgrounds.
Manchester City’s Inclusive Recruitment Manager said: "I am committed to creating pathways for under-represented players here at City and, through this work, I will endeavour to provide opportunities that encourage participation and promote high standards on and off the pitch.
"Supporting Alpha reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that young people from all backgrounds feel welcome and have the opportunity to enjoy and develop through football, whilst sharing good practice.
"Our inclusive recruitment initiatives and opportunities are central to creating positive experiences for everyone."

During the latest workshop, 27 volunteers from Alpha United Juniors and more than 100 children took part in a day of learning and development.
The session reinforced the club’s mission to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all players, regardless of their background.
Alpha United Juniors FC, which plays in the Craven League, sees the collaboration as a chance to gain valuable insights and best practices to bring back to grassroots football in Bradford.
Mohammed Waheed, chair of Alpha United Juniors FC, said: "On behalf of the club, I’m proud to lead and support this important work.
"Every young person should feel welcome at our club and have the chance to take part, develop and reach their potential through football.
"By working with City and our community partners, we can create clear pathways for under-represented players and to deliver high standards.
"We look forward to our next visit to City Football Academy over the next few months to build upon the learning and collaboration."
The club intends to continue strengthening its relationship with Manchester City through further visits, shared learning and continued collaboration.
The aim is to keep inclusion at the heart of its coaching and community work, both on and off the pitch.
