Police have praised Good Samaritans who came to the aid of an 85-year-old man after he was injured near York Railway Station.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, October 16, after the man left the station foyer intending to cross the road to catch a bus.
His injuries included a head injury, but the circumstances have not yet been confirmed, the force said, adding it was not known whether he was hit by a vehicle or fell.
A number of people came to his aid, and one member of the public took the man to hospital, and the force is appealing for them to come forward to help establish what happened, as part of ongoing enquiries into how the man's injuries were sustained.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed, the incident or may have captured it on a dashcam, and officers are also examining CCTV footage.
