A person has been taken to hospital after a cyclist and a car crashed on a main road in York.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Boroughbridge road at about 7pm on Saturday (October 25).
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said one person was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the crash near Plantation Drive and the Texaco petrol station.
“An ambulance and team leader were dispatched to the scene and one patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary,” an ambulance service spokesperson said.
The crash resulted in heavy traffic with drivers reporting delays of 90 minutes.
Several rail replacement buses heading to York station were also caught in the traffic.
Most train services to and from York have been replaced by buses this weekend due to major engineering work on the East Coast Main line.
