A takeaway in a city centre received a 1 star food hygiene rating earlier this year.
Bismillah Tiffin Box, located at 6 Upper Millgate in Bradford, was told to provide hot water throughout the premises following a food hygiene inspection in February 2026.
A revisit also took place in the same month.
The visit, carried out by environmental health officers, found that hot water was not available at the rear preparation sink due to a broken boiler.
An engineer confirmed over the phone that a new boiler would be installed over the weekend, while staff told inspectors they had been using a kettle for hot water.
Other safety and hygiene requirements were also raised in the report.
The business was told to purchase a temperature probe and provide evidence of the purchase.
Hygiene officers said: "You must provide and fix a ventilation canopy over the gas hob and any equipment which creates heat.
"Provide natural or mechanical ventilation in the front cook/service area to extract the odours/heat generated by the donner machine, hotplate and panini machine.
"Alternatively, as discussed relocate gas equipment into the rear prep kitchen."
Additional issues included the need for hand drying facilities at the toilet wash basin and the removal of a damaged green chopping board.
Management was informed that a new Safer Food Better Business pack was scheduled for delivery on February 25, 2026.
A follow-up visit was scheduled for March 2 to confirm that hot water had been restored and that a temperature probe was in place.
A final inspection was planned for March 30 to ensure all remaining requirements had been met.
It's not clear if these inspections ever went ahead or what the current operating status of the business is.
