A SCHOOL has more than doubled its record foodbank donation following an outpouring of support.

Margaret McMillan Primary School in Bradford donated 593.2kg of food to the Trussell Bradford Central Foodbank, enough to provide 763 meals for families in need.

This marks a significant increase from last year’s total of 284.3kg and is the largest school donation to the foodbank so far in 2025 and 2026.

Mrs Khaliq, assistant headteacher, said: "Thank you so much to all our parents, carers, children, staff and the wider community for your generosity and support with our Harvest collection.

"At Priestley Academy Trust, we are proud to teach our children to become active citizens who care about others and make a positive difference in the world.

"Supporting a community charity is just one of our Priestley Academy Promises and this wonderful response shows how we are putting these values into action together.

"Thank you for helping us make a real difference to our local community.

"Every single donation, big or small, has contributed to this fantastic milestone."

The school is part of The Priestley Academy Trust, which includes Atlas, Green Lane, Lilycroft, Miriam Lord, and Westbourne primary schools.
