A new Italian restaurant will open its doors in a Newcastle village today.

Siena's Italian Restaurant will welcome its first customers at 4pm today (October 25), on Main Road in Dinnington, near Ponteland.

The restaurant has taken over the former home of The Last Days of the Raj, which closed earlier this year after 11 years in business.

Previously announcing the opening, Siena's said: "Tomorrow's the day.

"Siena's Italian Restaurant opens tomorrow, and we're so excited to welcome you."

The restaurant said it had already received "lots of bookings" for its opening day.

Its newly released menu features a range of pizzas and pasta dishes alongside steaks, chicken and seafood.

Dishes include linguine bolognese from £11.95, pizzas from £10.95 and fillet steaks from £28.95, while a two-course lunchtime menu is priced at £18.95.

Sunday lunches will also be available, with roast beef and lamb both priced at £16.95 and roast chicken at £15.95.

Reservations can be made by calling 0191 429 3814 or by messaging the restaurant on Facebook.
