Storm Boelo is continuing to batter the North East with strong winds today, but conditions are expected to begin easing later.
However, the Met Office North East forecast says winds will gradually ease by the evening, although conditions will remain breezy.
The severe weather warning affecting the region is due to end at 9pm tonight.
What time will Storm Boelo end in the North East?
The Met Office has said 9pm on Sunday, October 25, is the key time, as this is when the current wind warning is scheduled to expire.
However, this does not mean the wind will suddenly stop at 9pm.
The Met Office says Sunday will remain stormy, with gales affecting many areas and very strong gusts possible at times.
Heavy showers are expected during the morning before gradually fading, with some brighter and drier spells developing later.
The wind is then forecast to gradually ease during the evening, although it will remain breezy for a time.
During Sunday night, blustery showers and clear spells are forecast initially before cloud increases.
Winds are then expected to continue easing until they become a light breeze.
When will the worst of Storm Boelo be over?
The storm remains capable of producing strong winds across northern England during Sunday.
The Met Office says Storm Boelo is bringing the strongest winds and greatest potential for disruption to northern parts of the UK, with widespread gusts of 60 to 70mph forecast within amber warning areas and the possibility of 80mph in exposed coastal locations.
Today's regional forecast for the North East says there will be gales in many places and "very strong gusts at times", before winds gradually ease by the evening.
