A Harrogate-based firm has secured a £12.5 million contract to upgrade homes in Kent.
Building modernisation specialist Synergize was awarded the five-year deal by social housing provider MHS Homes following a competitive cost and quality assessment.
The contract includes the option for a three-year extension, which could increase its value and duration to eight years.
Mark Loftus, managing director at Synergize, said: "This contract represents a significant step forward for Synergize in Kent and gives us the opportunity to combine our technical expertise with our existing regional infrastructure and supply chain.
"Improving the fabric and energy performance of homes can also make a real difference to residents, helping to reduce energy consumption and improve the quality and efficiency of their homes.
"We're also committed to making sure the benefits of the contract are felt locally through employment opportunities, community initiatives and our environmental commitments."
Synergize will carry out external improvement works across MHS Homes’ portfolio, which spans Medway, Maidstone, Gravesham, Dartford, and Tonbridge and Malling.
The programme will focus on replacing and upgrading windows, doors, and roofing to boost energy efficiency and help properties meet Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) standards.
The company will also conduct validation surveys and model long-term investment strategies to ensure upgrades deliver lasting value.
Lorraine Gray, head of investment at MHS Homes, said: "Appointing Synergize as one of our planned works contractors has strengthened our ability to deliver planned improvements efficiently and effectively.
"Their expertise supports our commitment to achieving value for money, streamlining delivery, and providing a better experience for our customers."
Synergize will use a combination of in-house trades and specialist subcontractors, supported by a dedicated senior management team during the first year.
The contract is due to begin in October, with the initial term running until 2031.
