York's first alternative pantomime is coming to The Crescent.
Say Owt, known for spoken word and performance poetry, is putting on a modern twist on Cinderella for two nights only.
The show will feature York performers in a mix of music, theatre, and poetry.
The audience can expect a retelling of the classic tale, complete with a ball at Knavesmire and a prince advertising the event via social media.
Music will be provided by Jarmouse, an artist from Young Thugs Records.
The Say Owt team, consisting of Henry Raby, Jarmouse, Hannah Davies, and Stu Freestone, have spearheaded this unique production.
Mr Raby, one of the show’s writers, said: “We wanted to take all the joyous, classic elements of a Panto… but make it punk.”
The alternative pantomime is set to take place on December 15 and 16, at The Crescent, Gillygate.
The show is recommended for ages 14 and up.
Say Owt promises a festive celebration of York and its people, with chaos, jokes, and surprises along the way.
