York Pride will return to the Knavesmire in 2027 following a record-breaking 2026.

The festival will take place on Saturday, June 5, after this year's event drew more than 30,000 attendees to the Knavesmire and brought more than 100,000 visitors to the wider city.

Plans are already underway for what organisers say could be their biggest celebration of the LGBTQ+ community yet.

Will Bosanquet, festival director, said: "After the incredible success highlighted in our 2026 impact report, we are thrilled to lock in June 5th for next year's celebration.

"We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing backing from our partners, sponsors, supporters, local businesses, and our amazing volunteers who make this vital celebration possible.

"We can't wait to welcome everyone back to make 2027 our most inclusive and vibrant year yet."

The 2027 festival will remain free to attend and will begin with its signature colourful parade through York’s historic city centre.

The day will conclude with live entertainment from both local talent and national acts, alongside charity and community stalls and family-friendly activities.

York Pride is a registered charity dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The festival is the largest of its kind in North Yorkshire and has become a key date in the city’s calendar.

Organisers aim to raise awareness and build a safer, more inclusive community for LGBTQ+ individuals across York and North Yorkshire through the annual event and year-round advocacy.

York Pride’s volunteer team is also celebrating being shortlisted for ‘Events of the Year’ by Visit York, York Mix, and The Yorkshire Post.

Details about headline acts, stage line-ups, wristband sales, and registration for stalls and the parade will be announced in the coming months.

Supporters are encouraged to follow York Pride’s social media channels for the latest updates.
