A driver has been arrested after a police pursuit through a residential area.

Anthony O'Reilly, 37, of Broadstone Way in Holme Wood, Bradford, was detained following a car chase in the Holme Wood area on October 13.

He has been charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a vehicle without insurance, driving without due care and attention, and failing to stop for police.

Officers from the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted a vehicle on Lymington Drive, Holme Wood, at around 7pm and signalled for the driver to stop.

The vehicle failed to stop and continued through the estate before being abandoned on Cross Green.

Mr O'Reilly then attempted to flee on foot but was detained after a short chase.

He is due to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on December 1 at 9.30am.

Police said the incident underlines their focus on road safety.
