A farm shop has updated its pumpkin picking schedule due to severe weather warnings.

Brocksbushes Farm Shop in Northumberland announced schedule updates following an amber weather alert for high winds during Storm Boelo.

The strongest winds from Storm Boelo are expected from Saturday evening and extend eastwards through Sunday, the Met Office said.

The farm will close one hour early on Saturday, October 24, and will remain shut all day on Sunday, October 25.

A spokesperson for the shop said: "Unfortunately the weather is not on our side this weekend and safety for our customers is important to us."

Customers with tickets for the 4pm to 5pm slot on Saturday are invited to arrive at any time during the day or reschedule for another date.

Bookings can be changed through the digitickets account portal or by emailing events@brocksbushes.co.uk.

The Brocksbushes team is currently working through all existing bookings and has asked for patience from visitors.

The Met Office said: "Very strong westerly winds associated with Storm Boelo are expected with fairly widespread gusts of 60 to 70 mph and gusts to 80 mph in exposed coastal areas.

"The strongest winds will initially affect western Scotland and far north of Northern Ireland on Saturday evening and then spread eastwards overnight and through Sunday.

"High winds will be accompanied by periods of heavy rain and frequent showers.

"Whilst high winds are expected across a wider area with a yellow warning in force, there is a higher confidence in impacts and disruption taking place within this amber warning area. The winds will gradually ease from the west through Sunday."
