An application has been lodged to increase the number of goods vehicles operating from a County Durham site.

Equivo Limited, with a registered office in Reading, has submitted a request to double its goods vehicle capacity at LHL Storage Ltd in Shildon.

Currently, the company is authorised to run one goods vehicle from the site, but the application seeks to increase this number to two.

The notice was officially published on October 21.

Owners or occupiers of land (including buildings) near the operating centre(s) who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected have been given the opportunity to voice their concerns.

They can submit written objections to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House in Leeds, outlining their reasons.

These representations need to be filed within 21 days of the notice being published, which means the deadline is November 11.

In addition to contacting the Traffic Commissioner, objectors must also send a copy of their concerns directly to Equivo Limited at their rgistered office address.

An online guide on how to make representations against such applications is available at www.gov.uk/object-hgv-operator-licence.
