Why did Our Yorkshire Farm end? What happened to Amanda and Clive Owen's hit show

Why did Our Yorkshire Farm end in 2022? What happened after Amanda and Clive Owen's split and how the family returned to TV with Our Farm Next Door.

Our Yorkshire Farm became one of Channel 5's most popular factual programmes, introducing millions of viewers to Amanda Owen, her husband Clive and their nine children.

The documentary followed the family's extraordinary life at Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, North Yorkshire, capturing everything from lambing and sheep farming to the challenges of raising a large family in one of England's most remote locations.

But after five series, the programme came to an end in 2022.

So why was Our Yorkshire Farm cancelled, and what happened to the family afterwards?

Why did Our Yorkshire Farm end?

The announcement followed the separation of Amanda and Clive Owen, who had become familiar faces to viewers through the programme.

The couple publicly announced their decision to separate in June 2022 after more than two decades of marriage.

Despite the change in their personal relationship, they explained that they intended to continue working together on the farm and co-parenting their children.

The end of the original series marked a major change for viewers who had followed the family's lives since 2018.

How many series of Our Yorkshire Farm were made?

Our Yorkshire Farm ran for five series on Channel 5.

Its appeal came from the combination of spectacular Yorkshire Dales scenery, traditional farming practices and the personalities of Amanda, Clive and their children.

Viewers watched the family tackle difficult weather conditions, care for their animals and balance school life with the demanding work of a hill farm.

The programme also documented the children's growing independence and their willingness to help with everyday agricultural tasks.

What happened to Amanda and Clive Owen?

Following their separation, Amanda and Clive continued to work together and maintain their connection with Ravenseat Farm.

They also returned to television together in Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.

The newer programme follows their efforts to restore Anty John's, a historic farmhouse close to Ravenseat.

The renovation is intended to create a property that could provide long-term security for members of their family.

Their continued involvement in farming and television demonstrates how their working relationship has evolved since the end of Our Yorkshire Farm.

What happened to the nine Owen children?

Amanda and Clive's nine children have also continued to attract public interest.

Their eldest daughter Raven studied biomedical science at university, while son Reuben developed a television career of his own.

Reuben appeared in Beyond the Yorkshire Farm: Reuben and Clive before fronting Life in the Dales, which followed his work with machinery and engineering.

The younger children have continued appearing in the family's television programmes, helping with livestock and taking on new responsibilities as they grow older.

What replaced Our Yorkshire Farm?

Although the original Channel 5 programme ended, the Owen family subsequently returned to television through other projects.

In 2024, Channel 4 launched Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.

The series follows the family as they renovate Anty John's while continuing their lives at Ravenseat.

Unlike Our Yorkshire Farm, which primarily focused on farming and family life, the newer programme has a major renovation storyline.

Nevertheless, viewers still see the family's familiar interactions, the challenges of rural life and the changing roles of the nine children.

Is Our Yorkshire Farm coming back?

There has been no confirmed announcement of a sixth series of the original Our Yorkshire Farm programme.

However, Amanda, Clive and their family remain on television through Our Farm Next Door.

The fourth series began on More4 in October 2026, with its final episode scheduled for November 2.
