A POPULAR fast-food restaurant on the outskirts of York has reopened following a major refurbishment.
McDonald’s at Bilborough Top - located off the A64 between York and Tadcaster – opened its doors yesterday (October 22) after a redesign under the brand's ‘reimagining programme’.
First closing on September 21, the changes aim improve the customer experience and better integrate new technology into the restaurant.

Thomas Atherton, the local franchisee who owns six McDonald’s restaurants across North Yorkshire, said: "I’m really proud to have reinvested in our Bilbrough Top restaurant, particularly with the redesign of our dining area.
"We’ve given the space a fresh, more contemporary look and created a more welcoming and comfortable environment for customers to enjoy their meals.
"It’s fantastic to see the transformation come to life, and I’m confident the refreshed dining area will make a real difference to our customers, while also creating a brighter and more enjoyable space for crew."
The redesign includes a new layout, improved crew facilities, and dedicated zones for different ordering methods.
Traditional walk-in ordering remains, but the kitchen and dining areas have been reconfigured to support digital channels and the McDonald’s app.
Customers are also left with more space to enjoy their meal.
