Events postponed and attractions closed as Storm Boelo heads for North Yorkshire

A number of North Yorkshire events and attractions have been impacted by the poor weather forecast for this weekend.

Storm Boelo hits tomorrow, and there’s a yellow weather warning covering York and North Yorkshire in place from midday tomorrow (Saturday) till 9pm on Saturday.

There will be “widespread gusts” of 55-65mph widely, with these reaching up to 70-80mph in more exposed coastal locations, the Met Office.

This has led to a number of postponements and closures over the weekend. These include:

  • The Yorkshire Museum and Museum Gardens in York: closed on Sunday. Visitors with pre-booked tickets will be contacted. The screening of A Basket Full of Eggs is cancelled

  • Piglets Adventure Farm near York: “We’ve made the decision to close Piglets this Sunday 25th October, to keep our visitors and team safe. We will continue to closely monitor the weather tomorrow and provide further updates as needed.”
