A historic pub has been put up for lease just months after returning to its original name.

The Grade II-listed building sits between Shipley and Saltaire on Saltaire Road.

Pub rebranded earlier this year

At the time of the rebrand, the pub’s team described it as "a new chapter" for the venue.

It reopened as The Victoria Saltaire in June after several years as The Salt Cellar.

They said: "After many years as The Salt Cellar, this iconic pub has gone back to its roots and proudly reopens as The Victoria Saltaire.

"We've given the exterior a fresh new look with brand-new signage that pays tribute to the building's history while giving it a smart, modern finish."

The pub has now been listed as available for lease, offering a new operator the chance to take over the site.

Marketing materials describe The Victoria as a "lively, community-oriented" pub and say it offers an opportunity for a new operator to build on its existing customer base.

The property features a beer garden, lounge area with a snug, space for events, and a two-bedroom flat.

It is located close to Shipley Railway Station, the town centre, and other amenities.

Reverted to historic name earlier this year

The Victoria had traded as The Salt Cellar from November 2017 until June this year, when it reverted to its historic name.

At the time, the team said it was "great to see this well-known local landmark proudly carrying its original name once again."

The new signage and branding were designed to celebrate the pub’s heritage while giving it a more modern appearance.

The venue is being marketed as an opportunity for an experienced publican to take on a traditional community pub in a prominent town-centre location.

The pub dates back to 1875 and was built on the edge of Saltaire after mill owner Sir Titus Salt banned licensed premises in the village.

The pub has been approached for comment but had not responded at the time of publication.
