WORKERS in Yorkshire may be well rested, but many are struggling with anxiety.

According to the Mental Wealth Index 2026 report by Wisdom Wellbeing, 47 per cent of full-time workers in Yorkshire reported feeling anxious, despite being the best rested in Britain.

Bertrand Stern-Gillet, CEO at Wisdom Wellbeing, said: "It’s promising that Yorkshire workers are well rested, but they’re still anxious.

"While getting enough sleep is crucial for both mental and physical health, the effects of anxiety could be offsetting the good rest.

"It’s clear that full-time workers in Yorkshire could benefit from workplace wellbeing support, to reduce their anxiety and help even more to reach their sleep goals.

"Workplace wellbeing initiatives are one of the most powerful tools a business can invest in.

"Preventing personal and professional issues from turning into crises can reduce absenteeism and ensure that employees are reaching their full potential each day."

The report highlights a regional divide in workplace anxiety.

Full-time workers in London reported the lowest levels of anxiety and the highest levels of optimism about the year ahead.

In contrast, areas including the North, Wales, and Scotland reported higher levels of workplace pressure and lower access to employer-provided mental health support.
