Diners in Edinburgh can receive cashback on meals at independent restaurants through a subscription app that offers rewards ranging from a small discount to the cost of the entire bill.
Shuffle, which launched in Manchester in 2024, has expanded to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool. The service currently lists more than 35 independent cafes, bars and restaurants in the capital.

Users link a bank card to the app and pay as normal at participating venues. Cashback is then awarded at random, with the company putting the average reward at about 20%.
Participating Edinburgh venues include Stockbridge Eating House, Slice Syndicate, Nightcap, Bodega, Lucky Yu, Monteiths, Red Squirrel, The Holyrood 9A and The Black Grape.

Other venues listed by the company include Pizza Geeks, Bedrock Coffee, Roasters Artisan Cafe and Alaburrito.
The company has also announced plans to expand into London and Newcastle.

Ollie Purdue, co-founder of Shuffle, said: “Edinburgh has more Michelin stars per capita than London.
“It’s got a different food scene, but it’s also very exciting.
“We want to focus on growing Edinburgh; we’ve got great restaurants in the city, but there’s plenty of room to expand.
“We want to help open at least ten great restaurants across Scotland’s central belt.”
