A programme of Christmas parties, live tribute acts, comedy and family entertainment is planned for Valley Gardens in Harrogate this December, with a festive marquee operating from 11 December until Christmas Eve.
Organised by Zoom Events, the marquee will be located close to the temporary ice-skating rink in Valley Gardens. Street food stalls and the Famous Last Stand Bar, serving festive drinks, real ales and cocktails, will also be part of the site.
Superhero and villain party nights
Three superhero-themed party nights are scheduled for Friday 11 December, Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December.
Guests will be encouraged to dress as their favourite superhero or villain, with a prize for the best-dressed attendee. Fancy dress is optional, and tickets include a complimentary glass of prosecco or a single cocktail.
Entertainment will include a live band followed by a DJ. The organiser says smart-casual clothing is permitted, although jeans and trainers are not.
Christmas tribute shows and comedy
Live tribute performances will include Abba Stars UK on 17 December and Landslide Fleetwood Mac on 22 December. Further tribute nights are expected to be announced.
Christmas comedy evenings are scheduled for Wednesday 16 December, Monday 21 December and Wednesday 23 December. These events are for over-18s, with seating provided throughout the marquee.
Family entertainment before Christmas
Daytime activities for families are planned from Saturday 19 December to Tuesday 22 December, featuring a Christmas trail alongside comedy and magic shows for children.
Family-friendly superhero Christmas parties will also take place on the afternoons of Wednesday 23 December and Thursday 24 December.
Paul Kennedy, director of Zoom Events, said the organisers were looking forward to bringing a different range of entertainment to Valley Gardens and had put together a programme intended to appeal to different age groups.
The events will run until Christmas Eve. Full programme details and ticket information are available on the Zoom Events website.
