Exciting new Irish bar to open in the heart of Leeds city centre

There will be live music and sport being shown

Leeds will soon welcome an exciting new city centre bar.

Work is ongoing ahead of the launch of Love, Jackie. The new addition is promising ‘proper pints’, live music and games - alongside a little Irish mischief.

Opening on Merrion Street, the 7,000 sq ft Love, Jackie is the latest concept from Leeds-based Professionals at Play, the group behind Roxy Ball Room and King Pins. Visitors can expect ‘the holy trinity of Irish stouts’ - Guinness, Beamish and Murphy’s.

They will sit alongside Leeds’ own Kirkstall Virtuous IPA and a whiskey selection that celebrates the best of Ireland. Additionally, there will be crazy pool, interactive darts, pool, shuffleboard and two karaoke rooms - alongside live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. While there will also be live sport.

Matt Jones, chief executive officer of Professionals at Play, said: “Everyone knows a Jackie. She’s the one who gets everyone together, convinces you to stay for another and makes sure there’s never a dull moment. We wanted to create a pub with that same personality. Somewhere with brilliant drinks, live music, plenty of games and the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget you were only popping in for one.

“Merrion Street is coming back to life, and we’re excited to be part of its next chapter. We think Jackie will fit right in.” The new venue will open Thursday, November 5.
