READERS of The Press have taken to social media to give their views on who should be the new tenants of a vacant large retail space in the city centre.
It comes after the TG Jones shop - formerly WHSmith - in 39-41, Coney Street closed on Monday (October 19) and followed the closure of a key city centre post office in the same building five days earlier.
The Press has launched callout on Tuesday via our Facebook page asking for suggestions for the vacant space.

By far the most popular idea was to bring back a post office, although some commenters were quick to point out there are branches nearby in Colliergate, as well as being a little further away in Walmgate and Micklegate.
One commenter said "Something for start-up businesses would be nice.
"A workshop, or an indoor market sort of thing.
"Encourage York citizens to start something of their own and give them a place to build it or sell their stuff."
Some commenters suggested the return of former high street staples who had occupied nearby sites in the past ten years, including TK Maxx and BHS.
Other fresh suggestions from commenters included "a golf shop, or a Forbidden Planet - a retailer who specialises in science fiction, fantasy and cult entertainment.
One contributor said they'd "like a home interiors shop - there's nothing like that in the city centre".
A live music venue was mooted by one commenter, and the size of the overall footprint of 39-41, Coney Street was highlighted as one that might see many businesses unwilling to take it on.
