A POPULAR York city centre shop has given customers a sneak peek into their newly refurbished location ahead of opening day.

HMV in Coney Street is set to reopen tomorrow (October 22) after closing its doors in August ahead of a major revamp that saw the shop completely gutted for a major refit.

As reported by The Press earlier in the week, the first 25 customers who make a purchase on opening day will receive an exclusive swag bag packed with must-have items.

In two posts to social media, the HMV York has given customers a tour of the building with close-up shots of collectables, DVDs, clothing, books, records, and K-pop CDs.

Phil Halliday, managing director at HMV and Fopp, said: "The reimagined York shop looks brilliant. The team has poured so much effort into this over the past few weeks, and it shows.

"With more than 32,000 products on offer, the location is primed to become the premier pop culture hub in the city.

"We can’t wait to welcome customers in on Thursday, October 22 to see all it has to offer."

The shop will reopen officially at 9am.
