A major road in Lincolnshire has been closed following a spillage.

The A160 is closed eastbound between the A1077 Harbrough Roundabout, near South Killingholme, and the A1073 Manby Roundabout, near Immingham.

The spillage also affects the A1173 southbound between the Manby Roundabout and the Pelham Road/Kings Road roundabout.

National Highways contractors are on their way to address the issue.

Drivers are urged to follow the diversion route marked with a solid circle symbol on road signs.

This involves taking the A160 westbound at the Harbrough Roundabout towards the A180, exiting at the first interchange, and following the A180 eastbound to the interchange with the A1173.

From there, drivers should take the first exit onto the A1173, continue through two more roundabouts, and follow the A1173 northbound to Immingham.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, plan ahead, and consider rerouting or delaying their journeys.

National Highways will provide updates on their regional X feed, and their 24/7 contact centre team is available for further information on 0300 123 5000.

The exact nature of the spillage has not been disclosed.
