Retail workers are invited to attend a drop-in event focused on tackling crime and improving staff safety.
Harrogate BID is hosting the Retail Crime and Staff Safety Drop-in on Monday, November 9, from 10am to 12pm at the Victoria Shopping Centre as part of Safer Business Action Week.
The event will highlight ongoing efforts by Harrogate BID’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP), North Yorkshire Police, and other partners to address retail crime and anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
Paul Evans, BCRP manager at Harrogate BID, said: "We’re encouraging retail staff from across Harrogate town centre to come along to our drop-in event during Safer Business Action Week.
"It’s an opportunity to find out more about the work Harrogate BID, through our Business Crime Reduction Partnership, is doing alongside North Yorkshire Police to tackle retail crime and anti-social behaviour."
Attendees will have the chance to learn about three national campaigns: Retail Trust, ShopKind, and USDAW.
All three focus on the impact of abuse and crime on retail workers.
The drop-in will include short briefings at 10.30am, 11am, and 11.30am.
Safer Business Action Week runs from November 9 to 15 and is supported by police forces, business partnerships, and retail organisations across the UK.
