Firefighters were called out after a horse fell near a York village this afternoon (Wednesday).
A York crew went to the incident near Dunnington at 1.39pm.
The horse had fallen over on Tarmac and was unable to get back up.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used a salvage sheet to allow the horse to grip the floor and stand back up.
“The horse was then left in the care of its owner.”
