AN Otley care home is set to open its doors to local emergency services and healthcare professionals this November, offering them a place to enjoy refreshments during busy shifts.
From November, Wharfeside Care Home will welcome emergency crews, district nurses, community nursing teams and other frontline professionals Monday to Friday, from 10am to 3pm, providing complimentary hot and cold drinks, snacks and light refreshments.
Visitors are invited to take a well-deserved break in the comfort of the home or collect refreshments to take away if time is limited. Colleagues at Wharfeside in Westgate will also have grab-and-go snack bags available for teams who are unable to stop for long during their shifts.
The initiative has been introduced by residents and colleagues as a heartfelt way of thanking the dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to care for, protect and support people across the local community.
Louise Bulcock, Home Manager at Wharfeside Care Home, said: "We all know how hard our emergency services and healthcare professionals work and how much we rely on them every day.
"We wanted to show our appreciation for everything they do for our community. This initiative is our way of giving something back and letting local frontline teams know they will always receive a warm welcome at Wharfeside Care Home whenever they need a moment to recharge."
