Plans have been submitted to install 10 ram-raid bollards outside a village pharmacy after the building was twice damaged by vehicles.
The application has been lodged with Bradford Council for the installation of ten 1.2-metre-high ram-raid bollards at Rowlands Pharmacy, 151B Main Street, Addingham.
The proposal is currently under consideration following its validation on October 16.
Planning documents state the front gable of the pharmacy has twice been demolished after being struck by vehicles.
A heritage statement submitted with the application says: "There have been two incidents of the front gable to the pharmacy being demolished by vehicles.
"This caused considerable inconvenience to the functioning of the pharmacy.
"The frontage has required re-building on both occasions."
The pharmacy and medical centre building was constructed in 2006 on the site of a former scout centre and lies within the Addingham Conservation Area.
Planning documents say the building was designed using stone walling and a slate roof, with a scale and character sympathetic to the local area.
Applicants say the proposed bollards would help prevent further collisions and protect the building from damage.
The heritage statement adds: "It is therefore desirable to protect against this happening again.
"A line of bollards is therefore proposed as protection."
The statement also says the bollards are "of a design suitable for the conservation area".
Residents can view the plans and submit comments through the Bradford Council planning portal under application reference 26/03538/FUL.
