A CREATIVE campaign led by young people is aiming to tackle serious violence across West Yorkshire.

Children and young adults aged 11 to 25 are being invited to share their ideas for a campaign focused on staying safe from gangs, crime, and pressure from others.

Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said: "The voices of young people are at the very heart of building a safer, fairer West Yorkshire.

"We all know the devastating impact that gangs and serious violence can have on our communities, and I would urge every young person to unleash their ideas to shape a future where everyone can thrive."

Entries can include short videos, photos, storyboards, written submissions, or drawings.

The winning idea will be developed into a countywide campaign with the support of a professional company.

The winning idea will be chosen by a panel of judges that includes children and young people.

Anja Todorovic, a member of the Mayor's Young Communities Network, said: "I think it is really valuable for young people to take part in events such as this because it is a way to make their voices heard.

"Staying safe from gangs and crime is particularly important in this day and age because it impacts everyone around us."
