A primary school in Stockton is set to close to all pupils tomorrow.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has confirmed that Whitehouse Primary School, on Dunelm Road in the Elm Tree Farm area of the town, will be closed on Thursday, October 22.

The closure is due to problems affecting the school's gas supply.

Parents and carers have been informed that the school will not be open to any pupils while the issue is addressed.

The council said there is already a scheduled 'Personal Development' day on Friday, October 23, meaning pupils were not due to attend school on that date.

School leaders are currently hopeful that the issue will be resolved in time for the school to reopen after the half-term holiday.
