A Strictly Come Dancing star and a Chuckle Brother are coming to the North East as part of a UK tour.

Strictly judge and theatre star Craig Revel Horwood will feature in the production of Sister Act, which is set to arrive in Sunderland as part of its UK and Ireland tour running from September 2027 to March 2028.

The musical tells the story of lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier, who is forced into hiding in a convent after witnessing a crime and inadvertently transforms the convent choir.

Mr Revel Horwood previously directed and choreographed the 2015 UK tour of Sister Act and now steps into the role made famous by the late Dame Maggie Smith in the original 1992 film.

He will be joined on stage by comedian Paul Chuckle, who will play Monsignor O'Hara.
