A North East law firm has reported a rise in turnover after completing a five-year growth strategy that delivered sustained increases in revenue and profit.
Muckle LLP, based in Newcastle, reported a nine per cent rise in turnover to £20.6 million for the 12 months ending March 31, 2026.
This marks the fifth consecutive year of growth in both revenue and profit.
Anthony Evans, managing partner at Muckle LLP, said: "It’s great to be able to report another successful year.
"It is a real testament to our great people, clients and business partners; their continued support has delivered a fifth consecutive year of increased revenue and profit.
"We are now embarking on a new five-year strategy which builds on our successes.
"Our focus is on achieving significant and sustainable growth across our Newcastle, Cumbria and Teesside offices, while continuing to broaden the legal services we offer.
"That will be combined with continuing to recruit, engage, develop and retain the best people; and making sure we give them an environment where those people can thrive.
"We will naturally change as we grow but that will be an evolution for us, our vision, what we believe in and our commitment to being a force for good for our people and communities won’t change.
"With a clear vision of what we want to achieve, great clients, a growing team and award-winning talent, we are confident of our future success."
The firm recorded average annual top-line growth of just under nine per cent over the five-year period.
Growth was reported across all teams, with its commercial, construction, and banking teams all reporting solid growth.
The agriculture, rural estates, and private client team also recorded significant growth, continuing to expand in Cumbria and now into Teesside.
Muckle’s contentious services expanded as well, with the commercial debt recovery team more than doubling in size from FY2026 and the addition of a contentious construction partner.
The firm has accelerated growth in high-potential areas, including the opening of a permanent office in Stockton in May 2026.
Over the past five years, Muckle has added the equivalent of 44 additional people and appointed eight equity partners, including three in April 2026.
Ten promotions were made this year, including three to partner and six to associate.
Thirty-eight solicitors have qualified with the firm over the past five years.
Muckle’s workplace culture earned it a fourth consecutive Best Place to Work award at the North East Business Awards and, for the first time, the People and Work Business of the Year award at the Cumbria Chamber Awards.
The firm also continued its long-standing community support, donating one per cent of annual profit to a charitable fund managed by the Community Foundation North East.
This year, it distributed £61,435 in grants to 27 charities.

Staff contributed a record 2,113 volunteering hours, a 51 per cent increase from the previous year.
