A RESCUE operation has been called after reports of a man experiencing a medical episode on an offshore gas rig.
HM Coastguard is reported to have landed at the Cygnus Alpha offshore gas platform at around 1.30pm on Wednesday (October 21).
Scarborough Coastguard teams were waiting to secure the site at Scarborough Hospital, the source said, before he was admitted to hospital.
Based in the southern North Sea, The Cygnus Alpha installation has been in operation since December 2016.
