Estate refurbishing historic building to welcome a new business

Fitzwilliam Malton Estate has begun refurbishing the interior of 35–37 Market Place, Malton, which was previously home to G Woodall & Sons Ltd.

THE refurbishment of a building which was previously occupied by the same company for 134 years is being carried out in preparation for a new occupier.

Fitzwilliam Malton Estate has begun refurbishing the interior of 35–37 Market Place, Malton, which was previously home to G Woodall & Sons Ltd.

A spokesperson for the Estate said: "This latest investment follows on from improvements to the exterior of the Grade II-listed property completed with CG Building and Restoration Ltd including a full re-roof and sympathetic external repair.

"In partnership with Native Architects, B-Surv Chartered Surveyors and Architectural Designers, and principal contractor York Property Solutions Ltd, this final phase will sensitively renovate the interior of this late 18th century building, ready to welcome a new business.

"The premises were formerly home to G Woodall & Sons Ltd, which traded in Malton town centre for 134 years before relocating to new premises better suited to its expanding production of traditional canvas bags, goods and tarpaulins.

"Once complete, this beautiful building will proudly open its doors again to begin an exciting new chapter for another occupier in Malton."
