A 21-year-old driver who led North Yorkshire Police on an early-morning chase has been charged with multiple offences.
The man was arrested after a grey Vauxhall Astra failed to stop for North Yorkshire Police on Wednesday (October 21).
A force spokesperson said: "The driver failed to comply and a pursuit was authorised.
"During the pursuit, after crossing into Knottingley in West Yorkshire, the vehicle clipped a kerb, causing it to lose a wheel and come to a stop.
"A 21-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop for police.
"He is due to appear before the courts in December.
"Failing to stop for police is not a game, and it is not without consequences.
"Our officers are out on the roads 24 hours a day, seven days a week, proactively targeting those who think they are above the law."
