A pleasure boat drifting close to the coast of a North Yorkshire town has been towed to safety by a local lifeboat crew.
Scarborough Lifeboat Station's said its RNLI volunteer inshore lifeboat (ILB) crew had just been carrying out a routine training exercise on Sunday, October 18 when it was called to assist the craft in the South Bay area of Scarborough.
A station spokesperson said the craft suffered dual engine failure.
The spokesperson said: "The ILB launched promptly and made its way to the casualty vessel.
"Once on scene, the volunteer crew secured the craft and established a tow.
"The vessel was then safely towed back to Scarborough Harbour."
"After completing the tow and ensuring the vessel was safely alongside, the ILB returned to the lifeboat station where it was recovered, washed down, refuelled and made ready for service."
