A PUB manager has been named among the best in the country.

Cheryl Williams, general manager at The Angel in Baildon, received the title of General Manager of the Year at Greene King’s annual Managed Pub Conference, which took place in Manchester earlier this month.

She was one of only nine pub leaders nationwide to receive the award, which recognises outstanding performance in running a successful, community-focused pub.

Ms Williams said: "There’s something really special about running a pub in a close-knit community like Baildon, where you get to know the people who come through your doors and become part of their celebrations and everyday moments.

"Having my work recognised with this award means a huge amount, and I couldn’t have achieved it without the fantastic team around me.

"We all care about giving our guests a warm Yorkshire welcome and making the pub somewhere the local community can come together, and I’m excited to keep building on that."

Her efforts have led The Angel to achieve top performance across Greene King’s metrics, break daily and weekly sales records for the third year running, and consistently deliver strong business results.

The awards celebrate excellence in commercial results, operational standards, leadership, and community engagement.
