A MOBILITY vehicle donation and volunteer efforts have strengthened a retailer’s partnership with an environmental charity.
Womenswear brand Damart marked the latest step in its collaboration with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) through a day of hands-on volunteering and the donation of an all-terrain mobility scooter.
In September, seven Damart employees joined other volunteers at Hill Top Farm in Malham to plant 2,229 meadow plugs as part of a restoration scheme.
Ben Northrop, health and safety and facilities manager at Damart, said: "Here at Damart, we're committed to helping the wider community feel more connected.
"From supporting Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust's conservation work through volunteering, to improving access to the countryside through our latest Tramper donation, we're proud to contribute in meaningful ways that make a real difference.
"Our partnership with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust continues to create opportunities for people to enjoy and engage with the Yorkshire Dales, and we hope to support initiatives that benefit both local communities and the natural environment for years to come."
The volunteer day marked Damart’s fifth event with YDMT, with previous activities focused on woodland and meadow creation.
In October, Damart donated an all-terrain wheelchair, funded by its On Senior’s Side Foundation, to the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
