A66 and A19 drivers are facing a weekend closure at a major North East interchange while essential bridge repair work is carried out.
National Highways has announced that the closure will affect the link road connecting the A66 eastbound carriageway with the A19 southbound carriageway at the Stockton Road Interchange.
The closure is set to commence at 8pm on Friday, October 23, and is expected to be lifted by 6am on Monday, October 26.
However, should the work remain incomplete, the closure may be extended to subsequent weekends.
The repair work involves essential bridge joint repairs and is aimed at ensuring the continued safety of the interchange, which serves as a crucial connection point for commuters and transporters.
The closure order will allow the work to be carried out safely.
During the closure period, a signed alternative route will be made available for motorists.
