A ROAD in Norton is set to see some much-needed investment to repair and improve the area.

Bazeley's Lane, between Welham Road and Langton Road is to be widened and resurfaced.

North Yorkshire Cllr Keane Duncan. who represents Norton, said: “I am pleased to share news of much-needed investment to repair and improve Bazeley’s Lane.

“A scheme is being produced to address the landslip and provide additional drainage. This will also incorporate some widening and resurfacing of the carriageway to Langton Road.

“This major scheme is designed to not only address the ongoing structural issues but also improve safety too. It is expected to be delivered in the next year.

“The investment represents yet more positive progress to improve roads in Norton and Malton. We recently saw the long-awaited resurfacing of Wood Street, while the upper section of Langton Road is due to be resurfaced in December.

“There is, of course, always more work to do. I am continuing to work constructively with the highways department to secure action to improve our roads and footpaths. I will keep residents informed of progress.”
