UPDATE: At 3pm today, North Yorkshire Council said the issue has been resolved and the online services are working.

An online service offered by a local authority in the region cannot currently be accessed by users of its systems.

In a statement published on social media this afternoon, North Yorkshire Council said: "We are currently experiencing an issue with our online parking services.

"It is not currently possible to access or apply for parking permits, submit Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) appeals, or make Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) payments online.

"We are working with our service providers as a matter of urgency to rectify the issue and restore the service as soon as possible."

The council has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
