Emergency services have been called after two skips were set on fire deliberately in North Yorkshire.

Firefighters were called to the scene in the village of Ferrensby, near Knaresborough, shortly after 10.20pm on Monday (October 19).

The fire in Farnham Lane was seen in the open and reported to the fire service.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the crew used hose pipes to dampen down the area and extinguish the fires.

“The cause was believed to have been deliberate,” a service spokesperson said.
