A popular York dessert shop has announced that it will open its second location this month.
We reported last month that Aly’s Cheesecake were in the process of getting their second shop ready – and now they’ve revealed the opening date and location.
The new shop will open on Saturday 24 October at 13 Auster Road, Clifton Moor in York.
On social media, they said that this second location has a “bigger kitchen, bigger production space and even more of the cheesecakes you know and love.”
Aly’s Cheesecake Production at Clifton Moor will be open six days a week. The opening hours will be Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.
Aly’s Cheesecake, founded by chef Ali Açıkgül, opened their first location on Gillygate in 2022. They’re known for creating delicious desserts like the San Sebastián style cheesecake, and their variety of creative flavours such as Purple Basil & Blueberry Cheesecake and Turkish Coffee.
With four decades of experience, chef Ali has an unending passion for the culinary arts.
Originally from Turkey, he has authored two acclaimed culinary books: his foundational masterclass, Peynirli Lezzetler (Cheesy Delights), has become a respected guide to baking with dairy, while his second book, Unutulmuş Tatlar (Forgotten Flavours), earned 3rd Place at the prestigious 2022 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
Chef Ali is perhaps known best for making incredible cheesecake – his own creation the San Sebastian Cheesecake.
