SOME weekend bus services in the Skipton area are changing for the winter with the turning back of the clocks on Sunday, October 25.
As usual Saturday bus service 75 between Skipton, Malham and Settle shortens its route for the winter to run between Skipton and Malham only.
From Saturday October 24, buses will run to Malham from Skipton Bus Station at 9.45am, 1.45pm and 3.45pm; returning from Malham at 10.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
Saturday DalesBus service 80 between Lancaster, Bentham, Ingleton, Ribblehead and Hawes has now finished for the winter.
Following the successful reintroduction of a Winter Sunday bus service between Skipton and Malham three years ago, buses will again run on Cravenlink service 864 between Skipton and Malham every Sunday throughout the winter.
Buses will run to Malham from Skipton at 10.50am, 12.50pm and 3.50pm, and return to Skipton from Malham at 11.40am, 2.40pm and 4.40pm and from Gargrave at 12.01pm, 3.01pm and 5.01pm, with the last bus continuing to Ilkley and Bradford.
Elsewhere on the Sunday DalesBus network, DalesBus service 822 to Ripon and services 875 and 876 to Hawes have now finished for the winter, but Sunday DalesBus services 72 (Skipton – Grassington), 864 (Bradford - Ilkley - Skipton - Malham), 873 (Ilkley – Bolton Abbey – Skipton) and 874 (Wetherby – Leeds – Ilkley – Grassington – Kettlewell - Buckden) will all continue running.
The first bus from Buckden on DalesBus 874 will run 10 minutes earlier at 12.25pm to connect with the bus at 1pm from Grassington to Skipton.
Full details are available online at www.dalesbus.org/sundays and in a new 'Days Out by Bus from Skipton' leaflet for the winter season available from the usual places, including Skipton library and Skipton railway station.
As part of the national initiative to reduce the cost of bus travel the maximum single fare on each service is still just £3, with under 19s travelling for £1.
Elderly and disabled bus passes are also valid for free travel.
