A Bradford bakery has explained why it has closed its doors just months after opening.
Jakes Bakehouse has built a loyal following on social media, growing its fame through ongoing food trends and spectacles.
Its success online has translated into queues at Darley Street Market, where customers regularly flock to the stall for giant pretzels, oversized vanilla slices and indulgent puddings made famous on social media.
However, customers have been left wondering what is happening at Jakes Bakehouse's second site on Thornton Road after finding the lights turned off and much of the interior emptied.
The bakery only opened its doors in May.
Why is Jake's Bakehouse on Thornton Road shut?
The bakery told the Telegraph & Argus that it is temporarily closed for renovation work.
Customer spotted unexpected closure
It comes after one customer said they became concerned after noticing the bakery appeared to be closed despite only opening relatively recently.
They said: "I was driving past and noticed the lights were out.
"This seemed odd as they only opened up a couple of months ago."
